We had the great honour and pleasure of making cakes for Gavin Strange’s Droplet series 2 launch event this past weekend (6th Feb 10) and we’ve just got all of our pictures up on our flickr.
The event was a massive success - loads of people came! Our cakes were available in the gallery section of the FiftyFifty store, next to a great selection of artist customised Droplets. So many people came to view the gallery that all 50 cakes, which were offered as complementary snacks to guests, were gone within the first half-hour!
Jolly good all ‘round!

Marzipan Christmas Wreath
A ring-shaped fruit cake covered with coloured marzipan and decorated with coloured and painted marzipan fruits, and some chocolate curls to simulate cinnamon sticks, marzipan holly, and fondant icing candy canes. For a final finish touch, the cake has been given a pearlised lustre (completely edible, and does not affect the flavour).

Snow Dragon Cake
Rich golden fruitcake with apricot, sculpted and shaped into a dragon form and covered with marzipan and white fondant icing and pearlised white fondant scales, red fondant icing frills and horns, and hand-painted fondant face, finished with sugar glitter and fondant holly.
